| Vaughn Fuller Prints of the Pub
Vaughn Fuller
is a native of Maine with a lifelong interest in drawing and painting;
but not pursued professionally until his retirement. He is a former
Naval Aviator, bush pilot and crop duster who retired from teaching
after 31 years. He taught at Lincoln Academy 42 years ago but has lived all over the state - including his home town of South Portland - and returned to the Damariscotta
area in 1999. He lives here with his wife of 55 years. Although
watercolor is his preferred medium he has also done black and white
photography. He has not had a showing per se but through word of mouth,
some of his art work is in Leningrad, Russia, Canada and Germany. He
is an avid fly fisherman and this has been reflected in his art as well.
This painting of the Pub was done because of his affection for the
place "where eveyone knows your name" and the friendly owners and staff. |
